John C. was born in 1906 in Carroll Co, TN. John C.'s father was Chesley Thomas King and his mother was Sarah Elizabeth Hatch. His paternal grandparents were William Presley King and Martha June Parish. He had three brothers and three sisters, named Walter Gray, William Joseph, Bealie, Letha M. 'Delitha', Lorie L. and Delie.
