Gilbert Kennedy 
Gilbert was born in 1541 in Cassilis, Maybole, Ayrshire, Scotland. Gilbert's father was Gilbert Kennedy and his mother was Margaret Sophia Kennedy. His paternal grandparents were Gilbert Kennedy and Isabel Campbell; his maternal grandparents were Alexander Kennedy and Mariot Dunbar. He had a brother and four sisters, named Thomas, Cartherine, Isobella, Jean and Janet. He was the third oldest of the six children. He had a half-brother named John. He died at the age of 35 in 1576.General Notes
