Riley was born in October 1851 in Morgan Co., IN.. Riley's father was Wilburn KEMP and his mother was Ruth NORMAN. His maternal grandparents were William NORMAN and Mary Polly KEMP. He had eight brothers and eight sisters, named Alfred, Stokely, Joseph Jasper, William, Creed, Emery, Nimrod, Marion, Laura, Louisa, Lucinda, Maria A., America C., Sarah, Mary Ellen and Nancy. He was the fourth youngest of the seventeen children. He died at the age of 68 on June 4th, 1920 in Jackson Twp., Morgan Co., IN..-
