Michael Houk 
Michael was born in 1778 in Kentucky.1 Michael's father was Nicholas Houck and his mother was Sarah Sally Mauser. His paternal grandparents were Johan Peter Houk and Anna Maria Schwedener; his maternal grandparents were Han Michael Mauser and Agnes Gomminger. He had three brothers and four sisters, named Frederick, Joseph, George, Polly, Elizabeth, Sally and Catherine. He was the third oldest of the eight children.-
