Florence was born in 1916 in Morgan Co., IN . Florence 's father was Oscar HICKS and her mother was Mayme "May" Dillon. Her paternal grandparents were Allison Monroe "Allen" HICKS and Mary Ann "May" OLIVER. She had two brothers and six sisters, named Richard , William C., Ester Ann, Thelma L. , Laura, Evelyn, Helen and Anna. She was the third oldest of the nine children.-
