Hawys ("The Hardy") Gadarn

Hawys, known as "The Hardy", was born on July 25th, 1290.¹ "The Hardy"'s father was Owain ap Gruffydd de la Pole and her mother was Joan (de Harley) Corbet. Her paternal grandparents were Gruffudd (Brenin of South Powys) ap Gwenwynwyn de la Pole and Hawise le Strange. She had a brother named William. She was the younger of the two children. She died at the age of 59 in 1349 in Grey Friars, Shrewsbury. She was buried in 1353 in Shrewsbury, Salop, ENG.
