Her paternal grandparents were Denny Columbus Foster and Nellie Ann Spry. She had a brother and a sister, named Sylvester Byerly and Pink Odessa. She was the youngest of the three children. She died at the age of 83 on November 13th, 2004 in Lexington, Davidson Co., NC, USA.-
