Albert A was born about 1889 in North Carolina.¹ Albert A's father was Richard Monroe Foster and his mother was Ella Sophia Smith. His paternal grandparents were Henry Foster and Margaret Melvina Cranfil. He had four brothers and two sisters, named Ollie Floyd, Jesse Raymond, Stacey Samuel, Leon Lezelle, Charlotte Belle and Eva M. He was the third oldest of the seven children.
