Bardolf FitzEudes 
Bardolf was born in 1040 in Brittany, France.1 Bardolf's father was Comte de Penthievre Eudes of Brittany and his mother was Agnes de Cornousille. His paternal grandparents were Duke of Brittany Geoffrey of Anjou and Havlive Rouen; his maternal grandparents were Alain Canhiart de Cornousille and Judith of Nantes. He had two brothers named Ribald and Stephen. He was the oldest of the three children. He died at the age of 80 in 1120 in Ravensworth, Richmond, North Riding, Yorkshire, England.1 General Notes

Although the surname of Fitz-Hugh was not appropriated to this family before the time of Edward III, it had enjoyed consideration from the period of the Conquest, when its ancestor, Bardolph, was Lord of Ravensworth, with divers other manors,
in Richmondshire. This Bardolph assumed in his old age the habit of a monk in the Abbey of St. Mary, at York, to which he gave the churches of Patrick Brompton and Ravenswath, in pure alms. He was s. by his son and heir, Akaris Fitz-Bardolph.
