Otis was born in 1858. Otis' father was Stern Thomas FLORENCE and his mother was Jane Demaris GLAZE. His maternal grandparents were Thomas Grant GLAZE and Permelia G. RHODES. He had five brothers and three sisters, named William, David L., Warren, Stern E., Newton R., Permelia A., Sarah and Mary J.. He was the fourth oldest of the nine children.-
