Francis Dowell

Francis was born in 1767 in Bedford, Virginia, USA.¹ Francis' father was George Dowell and his mother was Margaret Ferguson. His paternal grandparents were Thomas C. Dowell and Elizabeth Ann Coomes; his maternal grandparents were Isaac Ferguson and Elizabeth Edwards. He had four brothers and two sisters, named Micajah, Nehemiah, Elijah, John, Alice and Ceclia. He was the second youngest of the seven children.
