Martha S. was born on October 23rd, 1870 in KY. Martha S.'s father was William Marshall Despain and her mother was Elizabeth Ann Gaddie. Her maternal grandparents were Benjamin J. Gaddie and Clarissa Tyler Druin. She had three brothers and five sisters, named William Thomas "Bugeye", James Henry, Benjamin, Nancy E., Ann E., Lucy F., Clarissa B. and Sarah "Sallie" M.. She was the third oldest of the nine children. She died at the age of 1 on April 17th, 1872 in LaRue Co., KY. She was buried in 1872 in Levelwoods Cemetery, LaRue Co., KY.-
