John W. Crume 
John was born on November 26th, 1789 in Shenandoah Co., Virginia.1 John's father was Phillip Daniel Crume and his mother was Anna Bonehart Barrett. His paternal grandparents were Daniel Crume (Croome) and Elizabeth Brooks. He had a brother and three sisters, named Squire, Margaret, Nancy and Keziah. He was the oldest of the five children. He had eight half-brothers and four half-sisters, named Ralph, Phillip, Daniel, Jesse, William, Moses, Isaac, Eunice, Susanna, Mary, Elizabeth and Sarah.-
