Earl of Buchan, Great Chancellor William Comyn 
William was born in 1163 in Buchan, Aberdeenshire, Scotland.1 William's father was Lord Tyndale, Justicular of Scots Richard Comyn and his mother was Hextilda Fitzuchtred. His paternal grandparents were William Comyn and Maud Basset; his maternal grandparents were Huntred of Tynedale and Princess Bethoc of Scots. He had four brothers and two sisters, named John, Odo, Simon, David, Idonea and Margaret. He was the second youngest of the seven children. He had four half-brothers and three half-sisters, named Simon, Henry, Duncan, Malcolm, Bedoch, Christina and Margaret. He died at the age of 70 in 1233.2 -
