Mary Elizabeth was born in 1848 in Henderson Co, TN and her baptism took place in Census 1870. Mary Elizabeth's father was Michael Cary and her mother was Tabitha A. Watson. Her paternal grandparents were Thomas Cary and Elizabeth Roberts. She had four brothers and a sister, named Franklin C., John, Alexander, Burnis and Cynthia C..
