Countess of Mar Margaret was born about 1485 in Glenorchy, Argyllshire, Scotland. Countess of Mar Margaret's father was 2nd Earl of Argyll Sir Archibald Campbell and her mother was Elizabeth Stewart. Her paternal grandparents were 1st Earl of Argyll Sir Colin Campbell and Isobel Stuart. She had two brothers and five sisters, named 3rd Earl of Argyll Colin, John, Janet, Isabel, Jean, Elizabeth and Mary. She was the third oldest of the eight children. She died on July 11th, 1555 in Stirling Castle, Midlothian, Scotland.-
