George Bethune 
George was born in 1492 in Balfour, Fifeshire, Scotland. George's father was John Bethune and his mother was Elizabeth Monypenny. His paternal grandparents were John Bethune and Marjory Boswell. He had four brothers and five sisters, named Walter, Thomas, James, John, Beatrice, Elizabeth, Margaret, Janet and David. He was the third oldest of the ten children.-
