Homer's father was George Best and his mother was Sarah Francis Fulkerson. His maternal grandparents were James Reid Fulkerson and Matilda Ann Kerrick. He had six brothers and five sisters, named Walter Timothy, Johnny, Amos, Dugan, Hal, Les, Clemmy, Carthy, Lizzie, Florence and Mary.General Notes
He owned and operated a store near Petit, Kentucky. His second wife,Dolly, converted the store into an antique shop after his death. Hehad no children.
