Baron of Wycomb, Sheriff of Rutland Allan Basset (Alan Bassett) 
Allan was born in 1155 in Headington, Oxfordshire, England.1 Allan's father was Sheriff of Oxford Thomas Basset and his mother was Adeliza Alice de Dunstanville. His paternal grandparents were Gilbert Basset and Edith d' Oyly; his maternal grandparents were Alan de Dunstanville and Isabel. He had two brothers and a sister, named Thomas, Gilbert and Isabel. He was the youngest of the four children. He died at the age of 62 in 1217.2 General Notes

ALAN BASSET, youngest son, had a confirmation from King John of several manors, among which was that of Wycombe in Buckinghamshire; died 17 Henry III.
