Isobel Balfour 
Isobel was born about 1525 in Montquanie, Kilmany, Fifeshire, Scotland. Isobel's father was Sir Andrew Balfour and her mother was Janet Bruce. Her maternal grandparents were 1st of Earlshall Sir Alexander Bruce and Janet Stuart. She had four brothers named Commendator of Melrose Michael, Sir Gilbert, Sir James and David. She was the youngest of the five children.-
