Count Eberhard (The Elder) of Eberstein

Eberhard, known as The Elder, was born about 1123 in Eberstein, Baden, Germany.¹ The Elder's father was Count Bertold of Eberstein IV and his mother was Countess Uta von Calw of Sinzheim. His paternal grandparents were Count Bertold of Eberstein III and <Unknown>. He had a brother and two sisters, named Bertold, Luitgard and Uta. He was the oldest of the four children.
