Ralph was born in 1197 in Barton, Lancashire, England. Ralph's father was William de Brereton and his mother was Margery Roter de Thornton. His paternal grandparents were Ralph de Brereton and Unknown 704; his maternal grandparents were Randle de Thornton and Amicia de Kingsley. He was an only child. He died at the age of 83 in 1280 in Brereton, Cheshire, England.-
