John Thomas Overbey 
John Thomas was born on September 9th, 1859 in Lick Creek, (Hickman Co.), Tennessee. John Thomas' father was Garrett Turman Overbey CSA and his mother was Emily Jane Moss. His paternal grandparents were Daniel Overbey Jr and Sarah Frances Parker; his maternal grandparents were James H. Moss CSA and Sarah H. Fisher. He had three brothers and two sisters, named William Wilson, James Daniel, Tolbert Franklin, America Levicy and Sarah Annie Clara. He was the oldest of the six children. He died at the age of 67 on April 2nd, 1927 in Fort Worth, (Tarrant Co.), Texas. He was buried on April 3rd, 1927 in Smithfield, (Tarrant Co.), Texas.General Notes
