Effie was born in 1905.  Effie's father was Duncan Morris and her mother was Nancy (Unknown).  Her paternal grandparents were James A. Morris and Margaret (Unknown). She had a brother and two sisters, named Homer, Sarah and Florida.  She was the second oldest of the four children. She had a half-sister named Cora.
