Jackson was born about 1823 in Pennsylvania. Jackson's father was John Mitchell and his mother was Jane (Unknown). His paternal grandfather was John Mitchell. He had two brothers and a sister, named Jehu, Mathias and Mary A.. He was the oldest of the four children. He died about 1858 in Greene Co., Pennsylvania.General Notes
Bates History of Greene C.,PA 1888-p.755- It has a biography of anL.H. Mitchell, son of Jackson Mitchell and Catharine (Lemmon)Mitchell. Jackson Mitchell was a farmer and died in Greene Co., PA in1858 or 1859.
L.H. Mitchell was born June 10, 1846. His wife, Julia Ann HuffmanMitchell was born June 10, 1847. Her parents were Peter and Elizabeth(Staguard) Huffman.
