Arthur's father was William Henry Jones Jr and his mother was Mary Jane Haddaway. His paternal grandparents were William Henry Jones Sr. and Sarah Jane Hollinshead. He had two brothers and two sisters, named William, Donald, Living and Sarah Hannah.-
