Daniel V. Hammond 
Daniel V. was born on June 22nd, 1844.1 Daniel V.'s father was George Thompson Hammond and his mother was Nancy Clements. He had seven brothers and a sister, named George Thompson, James S., David Riddle, Charles Yard, John S. Brady, Richard, William Clements and Ann. He died at the age of 20 on October 31st, 1864 in Andersonville, Georgia.1 Death Notes
A note recorded in the family Bible reads "D.V. Hammond died inAndersonville Hospital Georgia of scurvy and dissenery (dysentery)October the 31st after being a prisoner of war nearly 12 months." Hemay have been in other prisons earlier.
A record of a W. Hammond of the 20th Pennsylvania Company K who died18 Dec 1864 in Andersonville Prison was located, but no relation isknown.
