George was born in Fairmont, (Marion Co.), West Virginia. George's father was Elijah T. Boord and his mother was Mary Cover. He had six brothers and two sisters, named Ephriam Walters, Thomas, Samuel, Peter, John, Jacob, Rebecca and Christie Ann.
