res.Hospital Street (now Aviles St), son of Juan & of Anna Carrel, age 35; wife
Maria Fitzgerald, dau of Geraldo & Isabel Coonon, age 29. had dau.Ana age 11;
son Juan age 9, dau.Maria 2 months; 8 slaves 1 bapt.

Thomas Travers Came to St.Augusting with his Regiment, surgeon in Br. Army,
Shen the provine of FL. passed to Br. Gov. When the province was again passed
to the Spanish, the Br. troops were removed, but Dr. Thomas Travers remained in the practive of his profession, and was for many years, the leading physician of that city, Chief Surgeon at the Royal Hospital, celebrated for his skill and eminent virtues."

Quesada gives title to Thomas Travers in the St. Sebastian tract SW of the town, about quarter of a league on W.of river St. Sebastian, said fields extend from the spring that separated from said river on the West side and which is called
Gonzalo Mendex...these savannas from E to W measure a little more than quarter of a league, which boundaries on N.of said spring of Gonzalo Mendex, west is pine grove, etc. page 667: Public sale Dec 4 to Thomas Travers to 5 Savannas outside city line on the East, on tract where Tolomato Church is built.; p.698: public sale Dec.13. Title to Thomas Travers for the 5 cultivated fields outside the city on E.side where the Tolomato Tower is. Escrituras 9 Jan 1793-20 Dec.1794. p.423 3 Dec 1794: Thomas Travers - Jose A.Yquinr, 4 mile tract...said tract comprises 200 acres in cultivated land, pine grove & woods. Travers bought it Aug.18 from O'Reilly as agent for J.Taton.
Thomas Travers held at death: Q.147 and part of Q148 Spanish Partner. Tolomato. In bapt. records lists Dr. Thomas Travers as s. John Travers & Anna Querel; a god parent to Wm. Travers bp. 1794 was Fr. Guillermo Travers, Missionary priest of Ireland, by proxy Fr. Thomas Hassett & Anna Travers. Dr. Thomas Travers was well trained and spoke 4 languages. A listing of books from his library reflected a well educated, inquiring mind. Praised, at times for his astute skill; he, nonetheless, died destitute, as did most physicians.
