Alexander Fraser:
History of Wyandot County Ohio; 1884; Leggett,Conaway & Co.; OHS; War of 1812, moved from Pickaway County to Wyandot County.
Biographical Sketch of Wm. B. Woolsey:
"Alexander Fraser was a soldier in the War of 1812, serving until the surrender of Hull in Detroit. He was taken prisoner, but was released, and made his way home on foot to Pickaway County, Ohio in company with a comrade. In the course of their journey they narrowly escaped death by the hand of an indian, who found them napping and snapped his gun at one of them. Mr. Fraser, killed the Indian on the spot. Mr. Fraser was one of the first settlers of Wyandot County, locating at Little Sandusky in 1831. "
Obituary of Alexander Fraser:
In Antrim Township at the residence of W.B. Woolsey on Thursday October 15, 1872 Mr. S. Fraser, aged 90 years; the deceased was a pensioner of the War of 1812. We are informed that during the late war (civil war), though so well advanced in years, he colored his whiskers and made several efforts to enlist in the Union Army. He has been a resident of this county over forty five years.
