Gerald Thayer Sr. - a very smart man. He worked on B-29 Bombers in World War II. Had to do with an invention of the largest printing press in the U.S. He installed pumps and motors in the swimming pool at the White House for President Roosevelt. At one time he had 20 men working for him. He spent 2 years on a machine to make barbar's Brushes out of paper, but it didn't materialize. Barbers are still putting on powder in any old way - "A crazy idea anyway" - so Gerald says. He undertook this project in Florida.
Muriel (Thumm) Hyzer went to school in Worcester, Massachusetts and then to Belopi, Mississippi to take charge of some department of business. She once worked for Thomas Edison. She is an epiloptic. She is now in England.
Gerald Thayer Hyzer Sr. at one time picked corn in the Texas Panhandle. Had a selling job in California for a U.S. envelope company. At one time of the depression, went into bankruptsy once for $20,000. He worked in Washington, D.C. at the Academy of Science and at the Annapolic Navy yard and claims he made money for the concern. He did social work with children for a while.
He doesn't understand the New Testament and even when he taught Sunday School, he didn't teach the things he didn't understand. He belongs to the Congregational Church and to the Grange.
(Very neat, spry, alert at 74) - written November 20, 1971
