Barbara Baskerville may have been born in Omaha, Nebraska. She never married. She had polio as a young child and walked with a severe limp.

She graduated with a BA from Jamestown College in North Dakota, a BS degree from Simmons College in Boston, a MA from the University of Chicago School of Social Work Administration and attended other colleges. She was a college teacher for many years including Atlanta University, University of Iowa and Mary College in Bismarck, North Dakota.

She moved to Colorado to live near a cousin, David and his wife Roberta Baskerville. She died in Colorado Springs. After receiving some groceries, she went to sit in her chair where she passed away. She was 77 years old.
