Tombstone inscription shows Benjamin Kerns and Sarah Winder as his parents.
Benjamin rebuilt one of Marion's four hotels sometime between 1837 and 1854. This hotel was kept by General Clark, who died of Cholera 1854. It burned down in 1859.
