Narrative

[Brøderbund WFT Vol. 9, Ed. 1, Tree #0216, Date of Import: Oct 19, 1998]
!Joseph had land transactions with his abrothers and bought Arnolds Arbour on
Aug. 21, 1752. His will was dated Aug. 23, 1757 and was proved Sept. 30 1757
in Frederick Co. MD. In his will he named his well beloved wife Susannah, his
son Benjamin, son Joseph, son Greenbury. He also named five daughters:
Elizabeth, Rachel, Patience, Rebecka and Susannah.
!The only reference to a Greenbury Arnold that has been found to date is in his
father's will. It may have been the middle name of John, son of Joseph. It
amy have been used to distinguish him from so many John Arnolds at that time.
Land transactions and his apparent age identify that this may be the case.
Also John Arnold of Joseph was identified among the original settlers in Lands
Westward of Fort Cumberland when that area was surveyed.
