Church records of the Protestant Parish at Brotzingen, Germany, show that Casper and his brother Christian came to America with their parents in 1738. Casper sometimes used the name MASON, when he purchased land before the American Revolution. Maiden Creek, Berks County, PA, where Casper and Anna Barbara Eckhardt were married in 1743, is still a small village near Reading, PA. During the Revolutionary War, Casper served as a private in Col. Alexander Lowry's Third Battalion. Lancaster County Militia, in Capt. Andrew Bogg's Company. Military Record - Pennsylvania Archives - Serie 5 - Vol. 73 - P. 215 DAR Patriot Index, Pg. 466. Land surveyed - July 29, 1745 - Pa. Archives - Series 3 - Vol. 24 - pg. 476 - May 26, 1778 - Pa.
