Born on Bear mountain now called "Allison State Park, VT" He attended Randolph State Normal School (VTC) - High School and Intermediate school. He was a tool and die maker by trade with special training in die-sinking and methlurgy.
He spent hours at the piano playing, composing and arranging his melodies. He also played several band instruments since he was 10 years old. He was taught by his brother (Henry Clinton). He has written some poetry and had some published.
He was a lay reader in the Cathedral Church of St. Paul in Detroit, MI. While here he studied for two years at Detroit City College which is now Wayne State University.
He served in the Chemical Warfare division of the U.S. Army during World War I.
At the time of his death he was employed at Electric Auto-Lite in Port Haron, MI. Also, an active choir member of St. Paul's Episcopal Church.
