Tanner, currier & shoemaker by trade in early life, but became Pastor of Cong.
Church at South Killingly in 1764, until his lamented death. Eliphalet not
liberally educated, but was an acceptable preacher and published a sermon
preached on Thanksgiving Day 5 Dec 1776 that had the ring of true patriotism
