Joseph Clesson was a soldier in King Williams War at the age of 15, was in the "Pomeroy Pursuit" from Deerfield Garrison; a resident of Deerfield 1705-9; of Northampton 1712-24; captured and taken to Canada while on a scout mission by a party of French and Indians under de Rouvile, 6-22-1709; was active in Father Rasle's War. Lt. under Capt. Thomas Wells; a Captain in the last French War and died in the service 6-4-1753; was buried in the camp burial ground near Fort William Henry.
