Clarance Sager, 62 died unexpectedly, while constructing a private road across the property of Mr. and Mrs. Ronald Champany in Braintree.
His body was discovered by Mrs. Champany who was taking him some coffee.
He had been operating a bulldozer which was found stationary, with the motor running. Death was attributed to Natural causes. Dr. Edward Armstrong of Bethel Regional medical examiner gave permission for removal of the body.
Mr. Sager had served as road commissioner of the Town of Braintree for 17 years, and was reelected at the annual town meeting in March, when he was given a standing ovation for the good job he had done on the roads during and after the winter's snowstorms.

Funeral services were held at the Day Funeral home in Randolph Friday at 2 pm with the Reverand Philip S. Hall Pastor of Bethany Congregational Church, officiating.
Burial will follow in Mountain View Cementary in Braintree, VT
