Caroline was born on July 28th, 1828 in Screven Co., GA.1 Caroline's father was Solomon Zeigler and her mother was Charity Howard. Her paternal grandparents were Lucas Zeigler and Anna Buntz; her maternal grandfather was Nathan Howard. She had two brothers and seven sisters, and also a sibling of unknown gender, named John Lucas, George M., Elizabeth, Sarah Ann, Charity Ann, Rachel, Mary Ann, Frances, Margaret and Nervin. She had a half-brother named Israel.1 -
