1   John's father was David Young and his mother was Ann Doane.  His paternal grandparents were John Young and Abigial Howland. He had two brothers and eight sisters, named David, Henry, Abigail, Rebecca, Ann, Hannah, Priscilla, Dorcas, Lois and Esther.1
