History of Wyandot County Ohio; 1884; Leggett,Conaway & Co.; Ohio Historical Society; William B. Woolsey, Postmaster, Nevada, Ohio. Born 10 Mar 1847, native of township, son of Walter and Harriet Fraser Woolsey. Walter native of New York, Harriet native of Pennsylvania. Walter and Harriet married at Little Sandusky 1832 - 9 Children, 4 still living; Almira married A. J. Peters, Martha married James Reynolds, William B., Henrietta married E.R. Irmer. Walter came to Wyandot County in 1831, died October 6, 1851. Alexander Fraser ( Harriet's father) soldier in War of 1812, taken prisoner, but released and made his way home to Pickaway County, Ohio. Alexander Fraser was one of the first settlers of Wyandot County, locating at Little Sandusky in 1831. Harriet died MAY 20, 1883, she had remarried in 1855 to Benjamin Kerns, 2 Children, Scott and Joseph being born. Left a widow again in 1865. Upon death of his stepfather, William took charge of the farm. In 1874, William moved to Nevada (Wyandot County) engaging in the grain and wool trade. William Woolsey married Mary E. Smith October 23, 1872. Jerome Woolsey, an older brother, was in the 11th Ohio Battery, died of typhoid fever and is buried on the banks of the Tallahassee River in Florida.
