Luke C. was born on December 24th, 1821 in Effingham Co., GA.1   Luke C.'s father was Luke Wilson and his mother was Patience Crawford.  His paternal grandparents were James Wesley Wilson and Ann Gordon. He had two brothers and seven sisters, named Elias W., Allen, Lydia W., Anna, Harriet, Martha, Eleanor, Ardelia Alice and Matilda.  He died at the age of 40 in 1861.1
