John was born in 1602 in Holt, Norfolkshire, England.1   John's father was Zachariah Whitman. He had a brother named Zachariah.  He was the younger of the two children.  He died at the age of 90 on November 13th, 1692 in Weymouth, Norfolk Co, Massachusetts.1
