Joseph was born on August 24th, 1718.1   Joseph's father was Daniel Whipple and his mother was Mary.  His paternal grandparents were Eleazer Whipple and Alice Angell. He had two brothers and a sister, named Daniel, Eleazer and Mary. He had five half-brothers and four half-sisters, named Joel, Comfort, Preserved, Eree, Job, Alice, Ame, Anne and Sarah.1
