Mehitable was born on September 3rd, 1819.1   Mehitable's father was Roswell Wheeler and her mother was Dimis Fox. She had six brothers and three sisters, named Ashbel, Truman, Asa, Steven, Roswell, William E., Mary, Sarah and Matilda.  She was the fifth youngest of the ten children.1
