¹ Parkhurst's father was Thomas G. Wells and his mother was Lucinda Lyman. His maternal grandparents were Elias Lyman and Tryphene Burrows. He had three brothers and five sisters, named Edwin R., Elias, Thomas Goodwin, Elizabeth, Lucinda, Maria G., Phineas and Ruth.¹
