Bessie Myrtle Dade
Bessie Myrtle Vannattan was born March 5, 1892 to John M. and Alice Vannattan at Edina, Missouri. She departed this life January 22, 1966 at the age of 73 years, 10 months and 17 days at the Bates County Memorial Hospital.
As a child she accompanied her family to Austin, Missouri.
She was brought up in a Christian home and accepted Christ at an early age. This faith was retained throughout her life.
She was joined in marriage to Ernest Marvin Dade on July 16, 1913. To this union 9 children were born.
Preceding her in death were her parents, two children, William and Robert, a brother, Albert Elwood and four sisters. Mrs. Ella Ritter and three who died in infancy.
She is survived by her husband, Ernest of the home, seven chidren, Mrs. Ruby Bridges, Adrian; Mr. Clifford Dade, Drexel; Mr. C.L. Dade, Salt Lake City, Utah; Mrs. Juanita Bridges, Adrian; Mrs. Betty Garren, Butler; Mrs. Lillian Jeffrey, and Mrs. LaVern Dickenson, Papinsville. She also leaves the following brothers and sisters, Ted, John and Dewy Vannattan, Mrs. Pansy Foly and Mrs. Ethel Simpson; also 32 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held at the Six Chapel Tuesday, January 25, 1966 conducted by Rev. Paul Rundel. Burial in the Austin Cemetery.
