Thomas was born about 1674 in Milford, New Haven, CT.1   Thomas' father was William Tyler and his mother was Abigail Terrell.  His maternal grandparents were Roger Terrell and Abigail Ufford. He had three brothers and seven sisters, named William, John, Ephraim, Mary, Elizabeth, Abigail, Sarah, Hannah, Tirzah and Ruth.  He was the third youngest of the eleven children.1
