John was born in 1533 in Hollingdon, England.1   John's father was John Turney and his mother was Alice Sheppard.  His paternal grandfather was Richard Turney. He had a brother and a sister, named Barnard and Alice.  He was the second oldest of the three children.  He died in England.1
